Our Team

Boyd E. Foster, Jr., CPA, CFE, ABV

Boyd has been practicing public accounting since 2001, including work experience at international accounting firms KPMG, LLP and PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP. Prior to starting Feeney, Foster & Cavanagh CPAs, LLC. Boyd was a principal at Sullivan & Company CPAs LLP, a regional CPA firm located in Providence. Boyd’s professional experience also includes six years in private industry with a health insurer and public utility. During his tenure in public accounting, Boyd has frequently worked with clients in construction, manufacturing, distribution and services industries. He is certified with the distinctive Accreditation in Business Valuation (ABV) – a credential conferred by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants on CPAs who achieve educational and business experience requirements. Boyd is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the Rhode Island Society of CPAs – where he is a member of the business valuation committee. Along with his private industry experience, these credentials give Boyd a unique perspective when providing audit, tax and other professional services to our clients.

A resident of Lincoln, Rhode Island, Boyd is a graduate of Providence College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He also holds a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting from Roger Williams University.

Paul J. Cavanagh, CPA, ABV

Paul started his public accounting career in September of 2000 at international accounting firm Arthur Andersen, LLP. Prior to starting at Feeney, Foster & Cavanagh CPAs, he was a manager at the Providence office of Sullivan & Company CPAs, a division of Blum, Shapiro & Company. Throughout his career, Paul has frequently worked with clients in the manufacturing, distribution, retail, non-profit, construction and hospitality industries; providing audit, accounting, employee benefit plan assurance, and tax services to his clients. He is certified with the Accreditation in Business Valuation (ABV) – a credential conferred by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants on CPAs who achieve educational and business experience requirements. Paul is also a member of the Rhode Island Society of CPAs – where he is a member of the business valuation committee.

A life-long Rhode Island resident, Paul currently resides in Warwick with his wife and four children. Paul is the president of the Thomas G. Cavanagh Memorial Fund, Inc., a non-profit organization established in June 2011 by Paul and members of the Cavanagh family in memory of their brother, Tom. The Fund’s objective is to raise money and awareness for those suffering from mental illness. Paul is also the treasurer of the Interfaith Counseling Center.

A graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, Paul received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Accounting and was the captain of the men’s NCAA Division I ice hockey team.
